An Array of Grey 🩶 In the first room of our special exhibition, two works come together that, at first glance, appear rather grey: ‘Graue Balken’ by Artur Stoll and ‘Chessflower’ by Olga Jakob. But on closer inspection, one suddenly recognises a depth of colour: in Stoll’s work there are shades of blue, green and yellow; in Jakob’s, deep purple. Both artists like to draw colour inspiration from different sources: Stoll from the impressions of his parents’ farmyard, and Jakob from the chessflower – a bloom blossom with a grey-purple checkered pattern.
